Welsh Air Show, Swansea

Flying the Recycling Flag

Plastics Recycling, charity, RECOUP, supported by Dart Europe, Kl√∂ckner Pentaplast, and Plastipak aim to collect On-the-Go post-consumer Expanded Polystyrene Trays and Cups as well as PET drinks bottles at the Airshow in Swansea this weekend.

The activation is unique in that it includes separating at source food waste for composting, the EPS cups and trays themselves for recycling in Wales (into thermal flooring blocks) which will reduce the amount of general waste collected over the weekend.

All PET bottles collected will be sent for reprocessing by Plastipak who have a base in Wrexham.   The bottles will be destined to be recycled into new drinks bottles by Clean Tech a Plastipak company.

Recycling at these dedicated points will give visitors to the show the opportunity to do their bit for the environment when eating and drinking on the go and enabling plastic packaging to be recycled into new products instead of ending up in landfill.
